MediaTek has designed and successfully produced a 3-nanometer chip using TSMC’s technology, the company announced. Following Apple and Qualcomm, MediaTek is now the third company to offer the most advanced processors, primarily for smartphones and possibly related devices in its portfolio.
MediaTek hasn’t provided specific details about the processor, but it’s likely that we’ll see the first devices powered by these processors in the first half of next year.
Currently, available information suggests that MediaTek’s new 3nm processors will be 18% faster than current 5-nanometer
