Since its introduction in 2019, the current Peugeot 208 has been the absolute top seller. In 2021 and 2022, the compact hatchback was even the best-selling car in Europe. This year the Peugeot 208 received a facelift, which is now available in our private lease comparator.

Motorization Peugeot 208: 3 choices
If you the Peugeot If you want to lease a 208 privately, you can choose between 3 motorisations. First of all, you have the 1.2 liter three-cylinder that we already know from the previous model. You have this with 75 hp (five-speed manual transmission) and 100 hp (six-speed manual transmission).
A completely new powertrain is the mild hybrid version of the 208. This uses the same three-cylinder and 48V technology and delivers 100 or 136 hp. You only lease this version of the 208 in combination with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Then to the electric version, the e-208. In addition to the old motorization with 136 hp, coupled to a battery pack of 50 kWh, there is also a new powertrain with 156 hp and a battery of 54 kWh. With this new powertrain you also have a larger range (409 km over 361 km).


How do you recognize the facelift?
Peugeot has also made some changes to the appearance. That’s a good thing, because that way you can distinguish the new 208 from the old model that is also in our comparator. The grille is one of the most striking changes: the black is a nice combination with the body color. The new logo also adorns the grille.
The license plate has also been moved to the center of the grille. The three vertical light claws have left the headlights and are now under them, just like with the Peugeot 2008. The rear lights that once stood vertically have moved, and that trick was also applied to the 2008. Finally, the exterior mirrors are always high-gloss black.
Trim levels
There is also plenty to choose from with the 208 in terms of equipment. It starts with the ‘Active’, where you get LED headlights, cruise control and a large 10-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. With upgrade packages ‘Style’, ‘Allure’ and ‘GT’ you can go for, for example, automatic air conditioning, alloy wheels, parking sensors, keyless entry and a reversing camera.
