When will the Red Bull F1 team’s winning streak end? Everyone asks that question. Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff believes there is only one way to stop the winning streak and strangely enough we have to look for it at Red Bull itself.
Red Bull has so far managed to win all fourteen races of the 2023 F1 season. Add to that the victory at the last race of the past year in Abu Dhabi and you have a record fifteen race wins in a row.
Is Red Bull really on track to achieve the ‘perfect season’ and win all F1 races this season, something no F1 team has ever achieved? McLaren came closest in 1988, winning fifteen of the sixteen races, a success rate of 94 percent.
According to Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff, there is only one thing that can stop Red Bull’s series.
“I think they have to screw it up themselves not to win all the races this season,” said Toto Wolff, who also had an almost perfect season with Mercedes in 2016. Mercedes then won all but two races.
“It would be a nice record to have,” said Wolff. “We didn’t succeed with Mercedes because in Barcelona we drove each other out with both cars and in Malaysia we had an engine problem (when Hamilton was in the lead).”
