The FIA has announced the results of its audit of compliance with the budget cap during the 2022 F1 season. According to the FIA, the ten teams have complied with the rules.

During the 2022 F1 season, the teams were allowed to spend a maximum of $ 140 million, but this does not include some specific cost items. The budget cap should ensure that the teams are closer together and the sport becomes more attractive. The FIA strictly monitors compliance with the budget cap to prevent some teams from gaining an advantage.

For the 2021 F1 season, Red Bull was penalized for a ‘major breach’ and it was now looking forward to the results of the budget cap checks during the 2022 season. According to the FIA, all teams have complied with the budget cap of $140 million held.

During the current season, the budget cap has been further reduced to $135 million.
