After a third place in the first race, Everts finished second in the second race at the Afyonkarahisar circuit.
For the son of ten-time world champion Stefan Everts, it is the second consecutive GP victory after the one in the Netherlands last month. He now has three GP victories on his record. In June he won the GP of Germany in Teutschenthal.
Norwegian Kevin Horgmo (Kawasaki), who won the second moto after finishing sixth in the first moto, finished second in the final standings. Jago Geerts (Yamaha) is third after a second and fourth place. Sacha Coenen (KTM) was 15th. Lucas Coenen (Husqvarna), Sacha’s twin brother, did not start the second race after a fall in the first.
In the World Championship standings, Everts is within 48 points of Italian leader Andrea Adamo (KTM/732 pts), only sixth in Turkey. Geerts is third with 650 points, Lucas Coenen fifth with 520 points.
After Turkey, there are only two appointments in the Motocross World Championship with Italy (September 17) and Great Britain (September 24).
