According to Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, Ferrari is struggling with a structural problem with the SF-23. According to Sainz, the problems with the Ferrari F1 car cannot be solved by introducing upgrades. Next year’s car should solve the problems structurally.
“We’ve done a good job developing the car,” Carlos Sainz told media in Monza. “If you look at the development race this year, we are among the cars that have been developed the most. It is clear that McLaren has made the biggest leap forward.”
“But apart from that, we have developed less compared to Mercedes and Red Bull this year and what we also failed to do is take away from the characteristics of the car that it is tricky to drive in certain circumstances.”
“It’s an intrinsic problem of the car that you can’t solve with developments, you can only solve it by changing the design.”
“It is no secret that we have problems with unpredictable conditions such as when there is a lot of wind around corners that take a long time.”
“Our tire problems can also be caused by this, which is why we now understand the problem. We now understand the main problem and we have to do everything we can to build a better car next year.”
