During the first practice session, Max Verstappen drove the fastest time, but during the second practice session he had to be satisfied with only fifth fastest time. Verstappen is not worried but he realizes that they have work to do at Red Bull.
“We have raced with different wing positions and we need to analyze what works best. That can be difficult here at Monza,” said Verstappen according to his official website. “I think I could have done a little better. I was still fine-tuning between the low and high speed corners.”
“I am confident that this will work out. It was difficult to get a good picture of everything in the second free practice, so we still have some work to do.”
Verstappen says he was not able to go all out during his fast lap, so there is certainly still some margin for improvement.
“On my fast lap I got held up a bit in the second sector and on the long run I couldn’t really do a lot of laps, so you don’t get a complete picture. But in terms of long runs, it was the same for everyone. There are still improvements to be made.”
