According to Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, there will be another race this season in which Red Bull will not win and then he wants to be ready with Ferrari to seize that opportunity and triumph himself.
“I don’t believe Max is going to win every weekend,” said Sainz last week. “I know you view journalists in a very drastic and dramatic way.”
“Obviously I know what my chances and the probabilities are, but there is still the chance that Ferrari can win a race this season and that I can be there when that win happens.”
Sainz is also honest at the same time, he realizes that to beat Red Bull, whoever that will be, that driver and that team will also have to be lucky.
“I don’t think anyone is perfect,” said Sainz. “Hopefully Red Bull will make a mistake at some point during the season.”
“Max drives at a very high level. He has some margin to make a mistake and still win the race but he doesn’t make any big mistakes.”
“Red Bull does not make mistakes either, until proven otherwise they deserve the success they are currently achieving. My congratulations for that and they should continue to enjoy themselves but we will try to get as close as possible.”
“They beat us and they dominate Formula 1 in a fair way. Even during the most dominant years of Mercedes, Red Bull or Ferrari, there was always one race where you could make a difference or something could happen.”
“I go into every race weekend with the idea that I have to be there when it happens and that I have to grab that opportunity. That’s my mindset. That is my focus, being ready when the opportunity arises.”
“As a driver, especially in years like this, you kind of live for that motivation. In addition, I also have enough motivation to fight for podium places or a place in the top five.”
