Formula 2 has presented its new generation of F2 cars in Monza. The rear wing in particular is strikingly different and the front wing also shows many similarities with Formula 1.
The current chassis in Formula 2 already dates from 2018, but from next year a new generation of cars will finally be driven. The Italian Dallara will remain the supplier of the F2 cars and will do so at least until 2026.
The new generation of F2 cars must resemble the current generation of F1 cars as much as possible, in terms of safety, visibility, systems, performance, durability and accessibility. The new generation of F2 cars will run on 55 percent sustainable fuel, from 2027 that will be 100 percent.
As in Formula 1, the newly designed front and rear wings should promote wheel-to-wheel racing and improve overtaking opportunities. The F2 cars are equipped with a 2.4 liter turbo V6 engine with 620 hp.
