The Porsche Cayenne also has to believe it: the SUV will eventually become fully electric. To ease the suffering for fans of roaring petrol engines, the Cayenne S already got a V8 instead of a V6. And now Porsche treats us to the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, also a V8 and the most powerful Cayenne ever!
Porsche has already officially announced that the Cayenne will be 100 percent electric. The Porsche Macanof Porsche 718 Cayman and the Porsche 718 Boxster however, take precedence. So the third generation Cayenne that Porsche introduced in 2017 has to come along for a while. That is why the SUV received a major facelift at the beginning of this year. The version that was still missing was the Cayenne Turbo.
Plug-in hybride suv
That Porsche Cayenne Turbo is now back. And how! By adding a 176 hp electric motor to the updated 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 (now 599 hp), the system power is a whopping 739 hp. The maximum torque is 950 Nm. With this you can reach 100 km / h from standstill in 3.7 seconds with the plug-in hybrid SUV. The top speed is 295 km/h. The 25.9 kWh battery pack can be charged in less than 2.5 hours with the 11 kW on-board charger.
The previous Cayenne Turbo had to make do with 550 hp. Oh gosh. The now presented Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is even more powerful than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid of the pre-facelift model (680 hp). This makes it the most powerful Cayenne ever. Until Porsche conjures up another Turbo S from its top hat. Because that version has always been the absolute top model.
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid comes standard with updated adaptive air suspension that provides more comfort as soon as the driver decides to take it easy. Furthermore, the options between the Comfort and Sport Plus driving modes are greater than before. Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) and rear-axle steering are optionally available.

Also as a coupe
The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is also available as a coupe. Well, coupe, it’s a slightly flatter Cayenne (see the photos above). That ‘coupé’ is available with a GT package that allows the SUV to sprint to 100 km / h even faster, namely in 3.6 seconds. The top speed is 10 km/h higher and thus breaks through the magical limit of 300 km/h. The Coupé GT is also 10 mm lower to the road. To keep all the power in check, ceramic brakes are standard. On the outside you can recognize the GT by the black design accents, the centrally placed tailpipes of the titanium exhaust system and the carbon fiber diffuser.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid price
You can spot the ‘normal’ Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid on the basis of its larger air intakes at the front, two double exhaust pipes (so four in total) and red brake calipers. The most powerful Cayenne to date can already be ordered, but you should not be difficult about the price, which is not yet known. To give you an idea: the previous Cayenne Turbo cost about 240,000 euros. The upper SUV is expected to hit the market in November.
