The model name Type H from Citroën probably means nothing to you. But if you see a picture of the Citroën Type H, you will probably gloat. With its ribbed body, it is reminiscent of one of the nicest vans ever: the old Citroën HY. Citroën is now also breathing new life into the camping version of the HY.
Those who regularly visit a food festival will sometimes come across the old Citroën HY, but then as a colorful food truck. With a line of hipsters in front ordering a turmeric latte or sweet potato fries. Originally, the Citroën HY was a closed van. Other variants followed later, including a pick-up and a camper.
Like the Volkswagen T1, the old Citroën van had a split windscreen that was later replaced by a single one. The HY has been in production for a very long time, roughly from the mid-1940s to the early 1980s.
The Citroën Type Holidays is really coming onto the market. Know when? In our newsletter you can read:
Ribbed body
What is most striking is the ribbed body. This allowed thinner steel to be used, which was more favorable for the weight. You will also find that corrugated sheet body on the new Citroën Type Holidays. It is a mix of the former HY and the current one Citroën Space Tourera 9-seater minibus that is only for sale in our country as an electric Citroën ë-Space Tourer.

If you open the roof of the Citroën Type Holidays, you can stand upright in the camper. If desired, the roof offers a sleeping place for two people. Feel free to invite another couple, because the two sofas and the dining table can also be transformed into a double bed in no time at all. The benches can also be removed for extra luggage space.

Outdoor shower
The driver and passenger seats swivel so you can chat with the people in the back. And of course there is a kitchenette. The outdoor shower is less obvious, but funny. Citroën says nothing about the drive yet.
The Citroën Type Holidays is no joke and will actually go on sale. It is already certain that the retro camper will also come to the Netherlands. A model page has already been made available on citroën.nl and you can sign up for the special newsletter. Maybe you can still cancel the new Volkswagen California, because we secretly like its French competitor even more.
