According to Alex Albon, Williams is currently experiencing an F1 season it could only have dreamed of beforehand. After many years at the back of the constructors’ championship, Williams is currently in seventh place.
Williams already managed to score more points this season than last year, thanks to Alex Albon’s points finishes. After a somewhat depressing first season with the new generation of F1 cars, an important step forward has now been made, to the great satisfaction of everyone at Williams.
“To be honest, it’s been a very good year for us so far,” Alex Albon said ahead of the summer break during the race weekend in Belgium. “I don’t want to say too much but it feels like we’ve made great progress between the first race in Bahrain and now. Maybe not as much as the McLarens but it’s going in the right direction for us.”
“We are currently seventh in the constructors’ championship. If you told anyone on the team at the beginning of the year, they would have donated a body part for it, so yes it is going well.”
“Obviously we have to keep our focus and keep going. But I am sure that as a team we can enjoy the summer break and then start the second half of the season full of energy.”
