During the first practice session Max Verstappen had to settle for a sixth fastest time, but during the second practice session Verstappen put things in order and drove the fastest time, followed closely by Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari.
“The second free practice session was much better than the first,” Verstappen begins his review of Friday in Monaco, as can be read on his official website. “The car was much more competitive. Compared to Ferrari, we are still a little short on how the car behaves on curbs and bumps. That’s something we have to work on for tomorrow, because you can see they’re very close. The Aston Martins are also close by. We need something more to stay ahead of them.”
Verstappen was not satisfied with the behavior of the car during the first practice session, but luckily it improved during the second practice session.
“The car was better to drive in, so you can push more and get closer to the barriers. In general, it was a difficult start, but a good ending,” concludes Verstappen.
