Saturday is April 1 and it feels like Skoda is trying to trick us with this adventurous version of the Skoda Enyaq iV.
A team of 29 students will transform the Skoda Enyaq iV into an adventurous model. They do this for nature photographers and other adventurous types who steer their electric SUV silently into the wilderness and want the certainty that they can spend the night somewhere. In this case in their car with a raised roof and extra luggage space.
First sketches and our input
Skoda only shows the first sketches. The project has only just started and the students are now going to work out the details of the plan. Our input is: come up with a solution that also works with existing Enyaq iVs. So something you click or stick on the roof. Perhaps it is necessary for the Skoda dealer to replace the tailgate with another one, with an extra hatch in it or something.
April 1 joke detector goes off
Our April 1 joke detector is set extra sensitive at this time of the year. At first we thought we had it, but Skoda has been doing this since 2014 and that gives us confidence that this is real.
And by ‘this’ we mean having students follow along and have them adapt an existing model. In at least half of the cases, the plan was: we take the roof off and make a convertible. This year the roof will be raised and that gives a whole new dimension to the project.
