Alex Albon was recently seen on his Instagram account in a rare Porsche 911 from Singer worth around 1 million euros. However, the Williams driver now makes a confession about that conscious post on Instagram.
During the winter, we often get an idea of what the F1 drivers are doing through social media. Also some photos of Williams driver Alex Albon in a rare Porsche 911 from Singer. Cost about 1 million euros and according to an Albon a dream car to drive.
Albon’s post was remarkable because the average waiting time for a Porsche that has been taken care of by Singer is about three years and often comes with a nice price tag.
It seemed as if Albon, despite his rather modest salary for an F1 driver at Williams, had bought his dream car. You might deduce that from the caption ‘Sunset drives with my girl . and Lilly’. But nothing could be further from the truth, as Albon now confessed.
“I need to set something straight, I don’t own the car and I now wish I had said that. But I know Robert Dickinson, the CEO of Singer. I went karting with him and Jenson Button one day,” said Albon.
“I had a day off where I didn’t have to train and thought to myself how best to spend such a day off. I am a huge fan of Singer, I love what they do.”
Albon then admitted that his salary is not high enough to afford such a car. A striking difference from the extravagant cars recently received by Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz and McLaren driver Lando Norris. But Albon also had something to say about that.
“Unfortunately I have to renegotiate my contract in order to buy me a Singer. Singer cars are a bit too expensive for me at the moment.” said Albon, before handing out a stab to his colleagues.
“But that car is much cooler than Carlos’s or Lando’s, absolutely!”
