Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has admitted after the presentation of the ‘new F1 car’ in New York that it has not revealed the real RB19. There was an old car or dummy car that is not in accordance with the new F1 regulations.

Prior to the Red Bull presentation in New York, we were told it would be a so-called ‘season launch’. It was expected that Red Bull would only show a new livery with the announcement of a future partnership with American car manufacturer Ford.

The latter announcement followed, as did the livery, but to many’s surprise, an announcement of the RB19 also followed. However, fans and journalists noticed something strange. Several technical adjustments related to the 2023 season could not be found on the car.

Team boss Christian Horner eventually admitted that the car was not the ‘real car’ and that the car that will be driven at the test in Bahrain will be radically different.

“The car we showed is different from the car you will see in Bahrain,” said Horner. “What you have seen today is not the true representation as you will see in Bahrain.”

“Today was about presenting the team’s ambitions for this year, our partners and of course the exciting announcement about Ford.”

“To do that here in America, in this market, is really something we’re doing with Red Bull Racing for the first time.”
