Porsche cherishes its older models, but also realizes that they are somewhat outdated today. A modern infotainment system gives the younger classics a digital facelift.
The retrofit systems that Porsche Classic releases are designed to refresh and modernize the interior of the 911 (generation 997), Boxster and Cayman (generation 987) and Cayenne (generation E1). Then we are talking about cars from 15 to 20 years old.
The new infotainment systems allow Porsche drivers to connect their phones via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Now they can play their own music, make hands-free calls and easily navigate to the next Porsche Club day.
Same look & feel
According to Porsche, the replacement systems will be delivered with the same ‘look & feel’ as the other components of the car. No ugly and exaggerated aftermarket screen, but seamless integration with the rest of the interior. In addition, the original equipment continues to work after installation.
PCCM Plus is a must
Porsche calls the built-in system Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus). It contains a 7-inch touchscreen, DAB+ radio, Porsche navigation, an on-board computer and the option to play your own media via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, Bluetooth or a USB stick.
You can modernize your Porsche 911, Boxster, Cayman or Cayenne of the above generations with the PCCM Plus system for 1687.95 euros plus installation costs. This seems like a no-brainer to us, because let’s be honest: you don’t press an Alibaba phone holder into the ventilation grille of your Porsche, do you?
