Our compatriot Stoffel Vandoorne finished fourth in the second race in London and is doing a brilliant job in the battle for the Formula E title. Lucas di Grassi won the race.
Jake Dennis again qualified on pole but it was mainly a matter of looking forward to the title contenders who all had to start the race in midfield. Jean-Eric Vergne qualified tenth on the fifth row while we found Mitch Evans and our compatriot Stoffel Vandoorne on the seventh row, Edoardo Mortaro even had to start the race from P17.
Jean-Eric Vergne’s race was already over during the first lap due to a damaged radiator. For Mitch Evans disaster struck at the end of the race, Evans went straight at the chicane and lost fourth place and important points in the title fight. Edoardo Mortara also finished thirteenth outside the points and so it was Stoffel Vandoorne who did an excellent job in the title fight.
Stoffel Vandoorne finished fourth, after race winner Lucas di Grassi, Jake Dennis and teammate Nyck de Vries. Vandoorne thus scored twelve important points while Evans, Mortara and Vergne received a nil score. With this, our compatriot increases his lead in the World Cup standings to no less than 36 points.
With only two races to go, not an unbridgeable gap, but a very important step in the title fight, a title that our compatriot should not miss anymore, although we have often seen very strange denouements in the title fight in Formula E.
