This makes the United Kingdom the first country in the world to take that step. From January 1, all new homes and other buildings, such as supermarkets and offices, must be equipped with charging facilities for electric cars. The measure should ensure up to 145,000 newly installed charging points per year from 2022.
United Kingdom to ban sale of fuel cars by 2030
Office buildings must install one charging station for every five parking spaces. In new houses it is mandatory to install smart charging stations that have to charge plugged-in electric cars especially during off-peak hours. Boris Johnson’s government is imposing an obligation to be ready for the fuel car sales ban, which will come into effect in 2030.
