Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull) has to answer to the stewards on Sunday morning prior to the Grand Prix Formula 1 in Qatar, organizer Formula One confirmed on Saturday.

The World Cup leader may have ignored a yellow flag on Saturday. The 24-year-old Verstappen is expected at 11 a.m. Belgian time. The race starts at 3 p.m.

The incident occurred in the latter part of the qualifiers. Verstappen was on his last fast lap when ahead of him Pierre Gasly (AlphaTauri) had a problem with his front wing, causing him to slow down and then also stop on a straight section of the track. A dangerous situation and the procedure with the yellow flag followed, for which the pilots had to reduce speed on the circuit. If the stewards judge that Verstappen ignored that order, a grid penalty threatens.

Verstappen clocked the second fastest time in qualifying. Lewis Hamilton was by far the fastest driver and took pole position.
