Verstappen first looks back at the Mexican GP before looking ahead to the next race at the Interlagos circuit in Brazil.
“It was really nice to win in Mexico. As a team it could hardly have gone better for us,” said Verstappen according to his official website.
“It was great to have Checo next to me on the podium and that’s what we want, we have to keep pushing. I really didn’t expect qualifying to go like this, but I always knew the car would be good in the race. We had a speed advantage and I was able to keep that up until the end of the race.”
The Interlagos circuit is very different from the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico. Normally, according to Verstappen, Red Bull should also be strong there.
“Looking ahead to Brazil, it is difficult to predict how competitive we will be,” Verstappen looks ahead. “In 2019 we won the race, but it was an exciting battle until the end and I expect something similar this year.”
“Let’s wait and see what the weather forecast will be, because that can affect performance quite a bit. There is also a sprint race this weekend. I’ve done well in the sprint race the other times, but then had bad race results, so let’s try to turn that around.”
