With immediate effect, non-Tesla drivers can also use their electric car at Tesla Supercharger charging stations. Not yet at all locations – there are now thirty-five in the Netherlands – because Tesla is starting a trial at these ten places:

  • Apeldoorn East
  • breakage
  • pigeons
  • Eemnes
  • Hengelo
  • Meerkerk
  • naughty
  • Sassenheim
  • Tilburg
  • Zwolle

Only cars with CSS plug can go to Tesla

To be able to charge an electric car from a different brand at a Tesla Supercharger, you must download the Tesla app. It now has a special feature built into it for non-Teslas. Please note: only EVs with a CSS connection can be connected to a Tesla Supercharger. For example, a Nissan Leaf has a CHAdeMO plug, which is not supported by Tesla.

Tesla Supercharger is more expensive for non-Tesla drivers

Furthermore, a non-Tesla driver pays more for charging at a Tesla Supercharger than a Tesla driver. The latter costs between 0.25 and 0.30 euros per kWh. That is considerably lower than the 0.57 – 0.62 kWh for everyone else. By way of comparison: at Fastned you pay 0.59 euros per kWh.
