Mercedes went into the race weekend at the Circuit of The Americas as the favorites but it was Red Bull and Max Verstappen who gradually became the new favorites for pole position. Max Verstappen also cashed in on that favorite role by conquering pole position, but none other than Lewis Hamilton will start next to him from the front row.
Earlier this season there were several incidents and even crashes between Hamilton and Verstappen, so we have to look forward to what will happen at the start of the race. Will we crash again or will the two title rivals make it through the first corner unscathed?
Not only at the very front is looking forward to an intense battle. A little further on, Ferrari managed to qualify for McLaren with both cars. Both teams are engaged in a fierce battle for third place in the championship.
