French World Cup leader Maxime Renaux (Yamaha) won the Spanish Grand Prix in the MX2 class on Sunday. Our compatriot Jago Geerts (Yamaha) finished the thirteenth round of the World Cup in sixth place.

Renaux took it at the Arroyomolinos circuit after finishing second in the first heat and winning the second. He stayed ahead of his compatriot and outgoing world champion Tom Vialle (KTM). Australian Jed Beaton (Husqvarna) completed the podium.
Jago Geerts (Yamaha) opened with a thirteenth place in the first heat but recovered with a second place in the second. In the standings of the World Cup, he remains second at a good distance from Renaux (535 points against 427 points).
Julian Vander Auwera (Yamaha) finished the GP in 28th and third last.
Next Sunday (24 October) the World Cup continues with the GP of Trento in Italy.
