At the end of the session we saw Fernando Alonso hit the wall with the back of his Alpine F1 car. However, the Spaniard managed to return to the pitlane.

In the end, it was Sergio Perez who set the fastest time in the Red Bull F1 car and thus served Mercedes’ answer. Both Mercedes cars finished at the top during the first practice sessions, while now finishing third and fourth, behind Lando Norris who was second fastest. Max Verstappen had to settle for eighth fastest time.
