Liam Everts has finished ninth in the first round of the EMX250 championship. The son of motocross icon Stefan Everts finished 12th and 10th in the series on the Matterley Basin circuit.
The 16-year-old Everts was tenth to appear at the starting gate for the first moto. “Liam got off to a great start,” we read on the teen’s website. “After a few laps he settled into sixth place. Unfortunately halfway through the race we saw a small crash in one of the descents, which put him back to twelfth place. He would defend this place tooth and nail and eventually come in twelfth.”
In the second series, the start was a bit less than expected. “Far back in the suit, he showed his speed. He worked hard to fight his way back into the thick points. This hard work resulted in a handsome tenth place at the finish line. Both results together resulted in a ninth place in the standings.”
The victory in Great Britain was for the Italian Nicholas Lapucci, who won both series.
