Also during the second practice session for the GP of Styria, Max Verstappen set the fastest time in his Red Bull F1 car. During the session several drivers made mistakes but the session was mainly marked by a very strange spin from Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas in the pit lane.

At the start of the second practice session for the Styrian GP, the Red Bull Ring was immediately very busy and the teams and drivers had good reason for that. After all, there was a chance of rain.

The drivers also looked a bit more at the limits of the track and that also led to mistakes. Carlos Sainz ended up in the gravel pit but luckily managed to get out again and return to the pits.

A slightly more spectacular slide, at least for the photographers, was Nicholas Latifi in the Williams F1 car.

The most spectacular and most dangerous slide, however, was that of Valtteri Bottas. When the Finn wanted to leave his pit pit in his Mercedes F1 car, he spun. Fortunately, the McLaren pit crew was just not hit.

In the end it was Max Verstappen who set the fastest time, just like during the first practice session. Daniel Ricciardo provided the surprise by setting second, followed by Esteban Ocon in the Alpine in third. Lewis Hamilton had to settle for fourth.
