Occasionally there are special or historic F1 cars for sale and that can also be said now. After all, this time the F1 car is for sale with which Michael Schumacher drove his very first F1 race.
The Jordan 191 with which seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher made his debut in Formula 1 is for sale at ‘Speedmastercars’. Fun fact is that Schumacher had to fill in for Bertrand Gachot who was in prison at the time.
Schumacher’s manager Willi Weber had convinced team boss Eddie Jordan that Schumacher knew the Spa-Francorchamps circuit very well. It was a white lie that Eddie Jordan convinced Schumacher to make his F1 debut.
In reality, Michael Schumacher had only visited the track as a fan. Schumacher then got to know the track on his bike but as a newcomer he immediately impressed by qualifying seventh, the Jordan team’s best qualifying result so far that season.
Unfortunately, the race went much less well for Schumacher as he had to give up after a few hundred meters due to a problem with the gearbox of his car. It is the same car that is now offered for sale, including engine. A few demonstration laps with the car were recently completed on the Donington circuit.
The Jordan 191 with which Schumacher made his F1 debut in 1991 during the Belgian GP is according to many fans one of the most beautiful F1 cars ever. Unfortunately, the car is also ‘priceless’ for the average F1 fan, although those who are wealthy enough will undoubtedly also have to dig very deep into their money bag.
