To start with the latter. Insurance company Univé has delved into the claims statistics and we are reaping the benefits. Because now we know that Volvo drivers drive the most parking damage. Just under 2.5 percent of them have been against another car in the past two years. The top five (previously flop five) is completed by people with a Mazda, Hyundai, Mercedes and Opel.
Those Limburgers cannot park
Parking damage is most common in Limburg (2.2 percent), followed by North Holland and South Holland (both 2.1 percent). We find the best parkers par excellence in Friesland and Groningen, where the claim percentage is the lowest (1.8 percent). Although that difference is not very big, of course, and it is probably also due to the car density, which is undoubtedly lower in Friesland and Groningen than in North and South Holland.
And neither are drivers in pink cars …
Purely for fun, Univé also looked at the color of the cars that most often undergo parking damage. And the outcome is grist to the mill of some men, who are convinced that women cannot park. Because the claim percentage is by far the highest for pink cars. Or would there also be men who travel daily in a pink Fiat 500 or Nissan Micra C + C?
