Mercedes-AMG goes electric. Performance versions of the fully electric Mercedes EQ models will be available, such as the upcoming EQE and EQS. The existing AMGs will receive a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Later this year, for example, the sporting arm of Mercedes-Benz will unveil the AMG GT73e 4Matic 4-Door. It combines a V8 with an electric motor for a combined power of 817 hp and 1000 Nm of torque. It goes to 100 km / h in 3.0 seconds. Later, the same powertrain will also be used in the Mercedes-AMG S 73e and SL 73e.

Mercedes-AMG C63 gets four-cylinder turbo engine
Perhaps more surprising is that the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 no longer has an eight-cylinder, as has been the case for the last fifteen years. The Mercedes-AMG C 63e will make its debut in early 2022 and has a four-cylinder turbo engine (from the Mercedes-AMG A 45) with plug-in technology. It is more than 500 hp and 700 Nm strong. Mercedes does not speak about the electric range of both the GT 73e and C 63e. The manufacturer does emphasize that the focus of both models will clearly be on the performance, not on the electric range.
