Mattia Binotto, Ferrari’s team principal, indirectly handed a stab to former Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel after the Bahrain GP.
After the dramatic 2020 F1 season, Ferrari achieved encouraging results in the first race of the new season. Charles Leclerc finished the race sixth, Carlos Sainz finished his first race with Ferrari in eighth.
Enthusiasm at Ferrari, also at Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto, but indirectly also lashed out at Sebastian Vettel. According to Binotto, Ferrari can now count on two drivers.
“I am really happy with our drivers, I am happy that we can finally count on them both,” said Binotto, with the word ‘finally’ in particular being a clear blow to Vettel.
“Carlos did very well and had a good speed. Motivation is also very important, you want to grow as a team, not just with the drivers. ”
Vettel scored just 33 points in his last season at Ferrari last year and finished only thirteenth in the championship. In comparison, teammate Charles Leclerc scored three times as many points in the same car.
