Actually, we may not yet know what the Hyundai Kona N looks like. But unfortunately for Hyundai, our spy photographer was lurking when the brand shot a commercial for the new performance SUV in Germany. The car in the photos is finished in Hyundai’s signature pale blue N color. It has dual tailpipes, upgraded brakes with red calipers and an aggressively styled front with three cooling slots above the grille. The Hyundai Kona N has the same 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine as the Hyundai i30 N and Veloster N. The block produces up to 275 hp and 353 Nm of torque.

Hyundai Kona N debuts later this year

Hyundai has been working on a sporty image for a while. The Korean brand is active in rallying and started its own performance label: Hyundai N. The first products of the sub-brand – the i30 N and i30 Fastback N – are no longer available in the Netherlands. They were joined by the Hyundai i20 N at the end of last year. The Hyundai Kona N will debut later this year.

Hyundai is active in the World Rally Championship

Hyundai has been in the World Rally Championship (WRC) with the i20 WRC since 2014. Last year the brand won its first manufacturer’s title. Hyundai also drives touring car races with the i30 N TCR and the Veloster N TCR. Some time ago, the fully electric Veloster N ETCR was also added.
