Sounds good! When can I buy / lease it? Well that’s the problem. The Volkswagen Project Trinity (not the definitive name) will not be on the market until 2026. So we have to wait a little longer before we no longer have to wait at the charging station / Moreover, it can of course also be boast of Volkswagen …

Does Volkswagen Project Trinity make autonomous driving possible?

Because the brand claims that the Project Trinity will set new standards in terms of range, charging speed and digitization. Volkswagen also says that the car will make autonomous driving possible. At the start of production in 2026, the car will be Level 2 autonomous (only partially autonomous, comparable to current assistance systems), but I am technically ready for Level 4 (not fully autonomous, but largely independent).

Volkswagen will build fewer variants of the electric sedan

“We will completely redesign the way we build cars,” said Volkswagen director Ralf Brandstätter. “Digitization, automation and a lightweight construction play an important role in this.” Fewer versions of the Project Trinity will be built than is currently the case. The hardware will be largely standardized.

You have to buy, add or activate options digitally

Brandstätter: “In the future, the individual configuration of a car will no longer be determined by the hardware at the time of purchase. Instead, customers can add functions at any time through the digital ecosystem in the car.” So actually cars have more or less all options on board, only you have to buy, add or activate them digitally.
