Max Verstappen drove the RB16B for the first time. The Dutchman did this at the Silverstone circuit and also with promotional tires from Pirelli that are used for so-called ‘film days’.
So it was not really full throttle yet and therefore Verstappen cannot say much about the new car. Verstappen especially hopes that the car is fast, even though the lick of paint that the RB16B received seems almost identical to that of the car from last year.
“I’m like we’ll see in Bahrain,” said Verstappen on his official website. “We can talk long or short about our new car, but we have literally only driven 100 kilometers with it, on demo tires and of course not in full. There is nothing useful to say about that yet. ”
“Much of the car has remained the same. The change to the floor is big. It will be important to make up for that lack of downforce as much as possible. It will be interesting to see who managed to absorb that the best. As long as the new car is fast. I don’t care about the color or shape, if the car is fast I’m happy. ”
