The Cupra Formentor is Cupra’s first own model, which was split off from Seat three years ago as an ‘independent’ brand. The Cupra range currently consists of the Cupra Leon and Leon Sportstourer, the Cupra Ateca and the Cupra Formentor. The Cupra Born will be added soon. That is a derivative of the electric Volkswagen ID.3. There will be no Seat variant of the ID.3.
Cupra Formentor for sale in four flavors
If you want a Cupra Formentor in front of your door, you can choose from a number of variants. Only 7,000 units of the Cupra Formentor VZ5 – with a 390 hp 2.5-liter Audi five-cylinder – will be built. More relevant for the consumer are the Cupra Formentor VZ 2.0 TSI (310 hp) and the e-Hybrid versions.
e-Hybrid has an electric range of 58 km
Because the plug-in hybrid can be ordered in two flavors. Cupra supplies the Formentor e-Hybrid (204 hp) and the Formentor VZ e-Hybrid (245 hp). They are powered by a 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine and an electric motor. If the 13 kWh battery is full – that takes about 3 hours and 40 minutes on a wallbox – then the Cupra Formentor e-Hybrid has an electric range of up to 58 kilometers.
From 0 to 100 km / h in exactly 7 seconds
Anyway, with the sports SUVs it is of course also about the performance. The 204 hp e-Hybrid goes from a standstill to 100 km / h in 7.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 205 km / h. Its 245 hp brother is slightly faster, with a 0-100 km / h time of 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 210 km / h. Both can be ordered from April. What they will cost is not yet known.
