In the category ‘oh yes, there is!’: the Peugeot 308. The once successful model is in urgent need of a successor. And after eight years, it’s coming. Our spy photographer already ran into him, in the form of the Peugeot308 SW.

We’re going to have to wait a little longer. The unveiling of the new Peugeot 308 is on the roll for the autumn of this year, followed three months later by this SW version. Peugeot first wanted to present the 308 at the Geneva motor show in March, but that event – as it did last year – is cancelled due to the global corona crisis.

PEUGEOT 308 IS RELATED TO NEW DS 4
The brand new Peugeot308 is on a modified version of Groupe PSA’s EMP2 platform. It is related to the new DS 4 and probably gets the same engines: a petrol engine with 130 or 180 hp and a plug-in hybrid powertrain with 225 hp and an electric range of up to 50 kilometers.

ALSO A ‘ROUGHER’, RAISED VERSION
The prototype in the photos is still heavily camouflaged. But what the front of the 308 looks like, we can deduce from the current Peugeot 3008 and 508- with sharp daytime running lights sticking like teeth into the bumper and a checkered grille with prominent Peugeot lion. The Peugeot 308 SW also comes with a ‘rougher’, raised version with extra plastic edges around the wheel arches.
