A bit of an open door of course, because more new electric cars and hybrids are also being sold. Still, in 2020, the number of electric cars on Marktplaats increased by 62 percent compared to 2019. There were also 47 percent more hybrids on the website last year.

That 62 percent percentage doesn’t say much in themselves, to be honest. Suppose that in 2019 and 2020 there were 5 and 8 electric cars on Marktplaats respectively, then the increase is already 60 percent. And Marktplaats does not reveal exactly how many electric cars were for sale. Still, of course, that number will be quite decent. Last year, 20 percent of all newly sold cars in the Netherlands were fully electric.
